Jocelyn Freeman is a Welsh pianist and conductor based in London. She began her performing career as chorister in St David’s Cathedral Choir, released her debut solo piano album Night and Novelties in 2013 with Kissan Records, and now performs internationally as collaborative pianist, piano soloist and conductor.


Jocelyn’s pianism has been described as “outstanding”, “brilliant”, “sparkling” and “One to Watch”, including accolades from International Piano Magazine. Engagements have led her to perform on four continents, including television and radio broadcasts on BBC, Sky, S4C, ARD and RTL television. She has performed concerti with the Cardiff Sinfonietta, in Aberystwyth Great Hall and St David’s Cathedral. Collaborative highlights include performing with Bryn Terfel, Alfie Boe, Katherine Jenkins, Elin Manahan Thomas and Stuart Jackson, and she has accompanied masterclasses led by Ann Murray, Thomas Allen, Natalie Dessay, Thomas Quasthoff and Liz Watts.

Jocelyn studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Pascal Nemirovski and Michael Dussek, graduating with all the accompaniment prizes. She was awarded the Phoebe Benham Fellowship from the Royal College of Music in 2012 and completed her studies at the Samling Academy and with Roger Vignoles and Alexander Fleisher at the Britten Pears Foundation as a Viola Tunnard Scholar. As a conductor she has received guidance from Simon Halsey and Nicolas Fink, and is grateful for the ongoing support of the Richard Carne Trust. Recent and future highlights include piano performances in the Aldeburgh Festival, Oxford Proms and for Live Music Now, directing both the Broomwood Ensemble in Prokofiev’s Cinderella and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Choir in concert in Lübeck, as well as concert and recording projects in the UK, France and USA.

She is Director of Music at the Church of St Laurence, Catford, with whom she will tour Madrid in 2017.
