One of the leading performers and teachers – domrist Russia. Mikhail Petrovich Savchenko (born 11/20/1962 in the city of Taganrog ) – one of the most famous musicians graduated from the Rostov Conservatory . Today he is one of the leading performers and teachers of domra in Russia . In 1990 he graduated from  Rostov Conservatory, domra class  of Professor V. Krivonosov, then of N. Shakhova ( Semenova) ; both of them were students of Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. While still a student he began teaching at the Taganrog College of Music , where he worked from 1986 to 1992, in 1990-1992 headed the department of folk instruments. In 1990 has got the first prize of IV Russian national competition of folk music in the city of Gorky . Graduated from the conservatory he  remained to work at the department of folk instruments as a teacher (1990-1993) , where he returned after a long break (2005). In 2011-2012 he was a head of the newly created department of plucked string instruments. He is  professor since 2012. For 17 years, led an intense touring, playing over 1000 recitals in 34 countries and 13 regions of Russia . In the first half of the 2000s in the ensemble with German pianist Lothar Freund gave about 130 or more concerts a year . Performed in the Concert Hall Tchaikovsky (Moscow), in the largest halls of Germany ( Alte Oper Frankfurt , Hannover Congress Centre , Great Hall of the Munich Musikhochschule ), Austria, Belgium, Japan ( Izumi Hall) . Cooperates with many famous orchestras and folk instruments orchestras of the world, including State Russian Folk Orchestra . Osipov , West Saxon and Haylbronsky Symphony Orchestra ( Germany) , mandolin orchestra of Gifu (Japan) , as well as with the Rostov Symphony Orchestra , Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments “Don” . Realized  in Leipzig the world premiere of the Concerto for domra with a symphony orchestra Kusyakova A. (2005), revising  the part of domra. In Russia , Germany, Japan issued a series of CD and DVD, music sheets ( transcriptions transcription edition of Bach , Haydn , Handel, Gubaidulina , Castelnuovo – Tedesco, Kusyakova , Mendelssohn, Sarasate , Halvorsen , Frolova , Tchaikovsky, Schnittke, Springe ) . Over the years, Savchenko with his artistic activity proves that domra is a virtuosic instrument , which can use not only classical and folk repertoire, but also modern academic music . Among the comments of the foreign press , whose number exceeds 100 , there are such as ” Wizard di domra “, ” Silver sound, virtuosic playing “, ” Russian music – more than the monotonous bell “, ” Russian master di domra”. In 2011, as a member of the trio won the VII International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka : Gold medal Menuhin and Grand Prix – 10 concerts in major concert halls in Japan . Now Mikhail Savchenko is an organizer of festivals, competitions and charity concerts . In 2006-2012 years 9 students of his class 19 times became laureates of international and national competitions, play concerts in Russia and abroad.
