Kolontayev  Alexander – balalaika (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) Honored Artist of Russia, Teacher of Rostov College of Arts, Artistic Director of the ensemble of Russian folk instruments “The Don” of the Rostov Region  Philharmonic Society Kolontayev Alexander works in the Rostov College of Arts more than 45 years. In 1982 he organized an ensemble of Russian folk instruments “The Don”. The ensemble is one of the leading groups of the Rostov Region  Philharmonic Society. The ensemble has toured in many regions of Russia and countries of ex SSSR, participated in prestigious music festivals and concerts, has represented the Russian national art and Don culture abroad (Germany, Italy, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, etc.). The ensemble became a prizewinner of the All-Russian Competition III (Tula, 1986.), prizewinner of the IV competition (Gorky, 1990.), prizewinner of the International Competition in Riva del Garda (Italy, 1994.), got Grand Prix of the International Competition in Pesaro (Italy, 2006). The ensemble has made records on Rostov and the Russian radio and television. There are  two CDs with recitals of the ensemble “The Don” and two CDs made together with the  synthesis choir “Singing Quiet Flows of the Don.” In 200 it is published under his editorship a Repertory book “The ensemble” The Don “, which includes the best music of the group.      In 1996, for the fruitful creative activity, his great personal contribution to the development and promotion of musical art Kolontayev Alexander was awarded with the honorary title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation”
