    Professor at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva

Born in Venezuela from a Spanish mother and a Venezuelan father, Tomás Hernández Bagés began studying the violin at the age of 4 in Caracas. At ten, he earned a scholarship from the Hampshire County Council in England that allowed him to study for a year in London.

In 1997, he won the First Prize of the Juan Bautista Plaza Violin Competition in Venezuela.

In 1999, he was a finalist at the Barcelona International Primer Palau Competition, and was able to interpret H. Wieniawski's Concerto for Violin No. 2 at the Palau de la Música Catalana.

Between 2000 and 2003 Tomás Hernández Bagés continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Maurice Hasson, then at the Tibor Varga Academy in Sion, Switzerland, with Gyula Stuller and Francesco De Angelis, where he graduated Teaching and a concert diploma. To complete his studies, he entered the International Menuhin Music School, where he studied, among others, Mihaela Martin, Liviu Prunaru, Atila Falvay, Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Oleg Kaskiv.

At the beginning of 2011, just after completing his studies, he obtained a place at the Symphonisches Orchester in Zurich.

Tomás Hernández Bagés is a violin professor at the Conservatoire de Musique in Geneva and he directs the orchestras of the MusicEnsemble project in Meyrin and Vernier.
